Welcome to the Pacific Performing Arts Association!

Greetings Everyone!

Welcome to the inaugural season of the Pacific Performing Arts Association!

I am sure that many of you are wondering what happened to the Northwest Pageantry Association (NWPA). After many years of growing and supporting the color guard activity, the NWPA was no longer meeting the needs of its members. Fourteen (14) member units came together and discussed what the future of the NWPA would be going forward. During this meeting it was concluded that it would be best to close the chapter of NWPA and move forward with a new circuit. Thus, the Pacific Performing Arts Association, or PPA, was created. Along with the creation of the new association, a new Executive Board of Directors was also elected.

In the last few weeks, the new Board has been enthusiastically working together to approve a season budget, create a new website (www.pacificperformingarts.org), set up the 2023 competition schedule and registration, and, in the near future, will be converting the NWPA Facebook pages to PPA.

Speaking of the board, I would like to introduce the members of the elected PPA Executive Board of Directors:

• President: Andrea Filer

• Vice President: Elaine Fite

• Treasurer: Jonathan Brown

• Secretary: Catherine Meininger

• Education Director: Elvis Garcia

• Judges Coordinator/Chief Judge: Ron Maier

• Show Coordinator: Kyle Grozelle

• Board Members: Cathleen VanBuren, Elisa Matthews

We are working to be transparent with the association members and ask for everyone to please be patient while we continue with the final set up of the new association. On behalf of the Executive Board of Directors, we are thrilled to have you join us on our mission to continue to grow the pageantry arts in the Pacific Northwest.

If you have any questions or would like to be involved with the association, please feel free to contact any of us.

Best of luck to everyone and we look forward to seeing all of you this season!

Sincerely,

Andrea Filer
